* “O evento se realizará na UniNorte, rua Huascar de Figueiredo, 290, centro. O horário de realização será das 09:00h às 17:00h, do dia vinte e cinco de abril de 2009.”
* “10h – 11h: Instalando Mamona no BeagleBoard (Kepler Alecrim)- SALA 2″
The video below demonstrates Infoshare feature in Carman 0.7 beta 2:
Main difference to beta 2:
* Infoshare feature does not need Pidgin anymore
* Carman supports up to 4 connected buddies
* Jabber/MSN/Yahoo are the supported protocols
* Infoshare daemon: infosharingd handles all communication between Carman
and libpurple, using DBus.
* A lot of improvements in carman-evas code
Nice days at Porto de Galinhas with good presentations and a great opportunity to share open source experiences. That was Bossa Conference 2009!
You can see some presentations posted by Bossa guys and great pictures posted at Marcelo’s flickr.
I’m still waiting for new posts at http://openbossa.blip.tv/ with presentations from Koen, Kate and Barbieri.
Yesterday I tested the open source WLAN driver stlc45xx developed by Kalle Valo and community.
First I tested it with Maemo using a simple open wlan network and it works fine.
The problems that I faced:
* Missing tools
You will need some tools that does not came with the original image. Some extra packages installed(wireless-tools dropbear-server libicd-network-dummy dropbear-scp) using an extra repositories. I installed the packages with default Maemo kernel(2.6.21-omap1) to have access to internet during the installing of preview packages.
* RD flags did not work properly
Using all flags defined by README the device turn off without any output or error message.
I used the “flags no-omap-wd, no-lifeguard-reset” as Briglia and it works.
* Navegate using Maemo browser
Maemo does not recognize the WLAN interface and I’m not able to select a network using the UI. So I connected to network using Xterm, but anyway I was not able to navegate using MaemoBrowser. It was necessary to create a DUMMY connection say the Maemo ICD that network is available.
I did some notes and it’s available on my wiki page.
Bossa is gonne be a great opportunity to share experience related to Open Source and Embedded development.
I selected some presentations that I won’t miss.
* Koen Koin – Multimedia and OMAP CPUs
* Marcel Holtmann – New NM for Embedded Linux systems
* Kate Alhola – Maemo 5 (freemantle)
I’ll see you there!
I was shopping when I meet our new member. The shopping center was NOT the correct place for him.
So I took him to INdT this morning …
Now he is the member of Embedded Linux Laboratory at INdT – Manaus.
He is going to develop Mamona Platform with me.
I named him as Ajuricaba Tux.
He enjoins the view. Like me
It’s nice place to work!
Hi,
A few months ago I posted about Mamona Platform on BeagleBoard. That rootfs was based on OMAP3430SDP with some hacks. A few questions about Mamona on Beagleboard have been sent and I want to say sorry for my delay. I’ve been working hard on internal projects at INdT.
Last week I worked to create BeagleBoard machine in Mamona. Not a hard work! Considering that Mamona is OE based then most patches came from OE and just small changes were necessary to boot up a basic Mamona rootfs. The current development is available on mamona.git branch mamona_beagle. Below you can see a small demo and some pictures.
Yesterday I created the project on BeagleBoard website.
You can have more details using the notes I’ve done during development.
